The state-owned Avtomagistrali is constructing Hemus with 40 builders The state-owned Avtomagistrali company is building the Hemus highway with 41 road construction and maintenance workers. The rest are owned by hired companies through framework agreements for the construction of the highway. In the last two years, the state has given Avtomagistrali through the so-called in-house procurement contracts for over BGN 4.5 billion.The largest is the completion of the Hemus highway between Sofia and Varna for over BGN 2.7 billion for 225 km. About 381 employees have been employed in Avtomagistrali under an employment contract, and the company owns 355 machines and equipment for the implementation of the infrastructure projects. The data are from the end of November 2020. This means that the remaining 3,700 workers belong to the companies hired with framework agreements for the construction of the first three sections being worked on - from the Boaza junction to the Pleven / Lovech junction. The big construction companies are Haskovo-based AB, Varna's Hydrostroy and Inzhstroyengineering, Sofia-based Hemus Motorways and Patinzheneringstroy-T from Targovishte. Separately, about 15 more contracts have been concluded with suppliers of materials and construction machinery.
