FANTASTICO GROUP OOD
Branch: Non-specialised retail sale of predominately food, beverages or tobacco The FMCG market in Bulgaria is estimated at around BGN 16 billion in 2024 and is dominated by German giants such as Kaufland, Lidl, Billa and Metro. The sector has already seen the departure of retail chains such as Carrefour, Roda and Penny from the country, as well as the bankruptcy of Piccadilly and Familia, and in recent years it has also witnessed the entry of the Macedonian KAM, Mix Markt (which offers Russian food from Germany), Parkmart's attempts to revive Carrefour stores, and the rapid rise of the new Bulgarian chain of small stores Minimart. The Sofia retail chain DAR intends to buy the "345" stores. DAR and "345" have a similar business model. Both chains own supermarket-type stores only in Sofia and compete with both large players and small neighborhood stores. If the deal is approved by the Antimonopoly Commission (CPC), DAR will buy the company "345" along with all its assets and lease agreements for the retail outlets, the "345" brand, which will continue to exist, and the retail equipment, machinery and furnishings available in the stores. The buyer is the company "Nikon-NK", which manages the DAR stores - owned by Nikolay Aleksiev Kanchev. The first DAR was opened in 1991 in the capital's "Nadezhda" district. Today, the chain manages 12 retail outlets with about 6,000 sq m of total built-up area, of which nearly 3,000 sq m is retail space. The central office has an area of ??about 300 sq m. Its stores serve about 11 thousand customers per day. Over the past seven years, the chain has opened six new stores, modernized most of the existing retail outlets and built its own warehouse. Part of the company's activity is related to the production, which is located in the capital's "Druzhba 2" district, of frozen fruits, vegetables and ice under its own brand Vitalino, which "Nikon-NK" also supplies to other retail chains in the country. DAR's total revenues for 2024 are 74 million leva (with 64 million leva turnover and 1.874 million leva profit according to the 2023 report). Net revenues have grown similarly to 65 million leva from 57 million leva in 2023. There are 320 employees, most of whom have been working in the company for over 10 years. The seller - the "345" grocery store is also traditional - it has existed for 25 years and is owned by Vasil Makov Gyorev, Georgi Stefanov Trendafilov and Dimitar Dragomirov Georgiev - partners in the company of the same name. Today it operates 16 retail outlets, most of which are located in the central districts of the capital. For 2024, the chain reports 20.88 million leva in revenue - almost unchanged from 2023 - 20.71 million leva and 18 thousand leva in profit. The number of employees is about 150, some of whom are long-term employees of 15 - 20 years. After the possible concentration, the employees of "345" will be retained, as well as the "345" brand.
