Minstroy invested over EUR 20 million in Macedonia Over EUR 20 million will invest Bulgarian Minstroy holding within two years in both lead and zinc mines in Macedonia, which it acquired recently. Both mines are the largest employers in eastern Macedonia and closing them had created a social problem in the region. With the resumption of activity a total of 1,000 miners will now return to their workplaces. This is expected to happen by the end of the year. So far nearly EUR 7 million are invested, which includes the price of the concession and assets of the mines. By the end of the year investment in Macedonia will reach EUR 12-13 million and in two years the rest of the remaining funds to EUR 20 million will be invested. This includes the complete renovation of the mines and purchase of new machinery and equipment. Again by the end of this year employees will reach 1,000 people. The total capacity of the two Macedonian mines is around 3000 tons of concentrate per month.
