Insurance brokers sold policies for a record 2.38 billion BGN A total of 342 insurance brokers were operating in our country at the end of 2022. Of these, 340 submitted annual reports to the Financial Supervision Commission. They show that the premium income realized through insurance brokers reached a record BGN 2.381 billion compared to BGN 2.061 billion a year earlier. A total of BGN 2.178 billion was realized in favor of insurers in Bulgaria, and BGN 202 million – in favor of insurers with headquarters in other countries. Three of the insurance brokers operating in our country ended 2023 with premium income exceeding BGN 100 million. The leader in this indicator is SDI Group with BGN 173 million, followed by I&G Insurance Brokers (BGN 165 million BGN) and Marsh EOOD (BGN 129.7 million). Among the leaders in the country are also Total Ins (BGN 88.9 million), Amarant Bulgaria (BGN 83 million) and Broker Ins (BGN 81 million). Musala Insurance Broker (72.7 million BGN), General Broker Club (68.5 million BGN), UniCredit (67.8 million BGN) and United Broker (55.8 million BGN) are also in the top 10. The brokers from the top 20 realized a total of nearly BGN 1.4 billion in premium income, representing 58.7% of the total in the sector. Premium income of over BGN 10 million was reported by 45 of the companies, and over BGN 1 million by 204 of them.
