The shareholders of insurance company Euro ins will accept changes in the Supervisory Board of the company. This will happen at the General Meeting of the company that is appointed for the end of February. There will be also changes in the statute of the company. At the meeting will be accepted the annual report of Euro ins and will be take a decision for allocation of the profit for 2002.

The insurance company Euro Ins. Reported a premium income in amount of BGN 17.36 million,which is a growth of 70 per cent as compared to the previous year, announced the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company Mr. Kiril Boshov. During 2001 Euro Ins. Reported incomes in amount of BGN 10 million. The management of the company expects that during 2003 the incomes of the company will reach the level of between BGN 25 and BGN 30 million.

The Executive Director of AIG Bulgaria Mr. Venislav Jotov was selected for a Chairman of the Board of Management of Bulgarian Insurers Association, decided the members of the association at the general meeting.

The total premium revenues from the Green card insurance (same as Civil responsibility for events abroad), for the first half of 2003 is BGN 20.2 million, according to data published by Financial Supervision Commission. The incomes from this type of insurance have posted a drop of around 1.8 per cent or BGN 380 thousand compared to the same period of last year. The market share of the Green card in the total revenues of general insurance companies is currently 7.37 per cent from 9.59 per cent in June 2002. The leader by revenues from Green card remains Bulstrad, followed by Allianz with a share of 8.6 per cent, DZI 8.08 per cent, and Vitosha 7.6 per cent. The other members of the National bureau are Bul Ins, Orel, Euro Ins, Jupiter, Bulgarski imoti.

Insurance company Armeetz was adopted as member of the National Bureau of Car Insurance Companies at the meeting of the Bureau yesterday. Thus the number of the companies which offer the Green card policy becomes 11. By this moment the Green card policy was offered by IRJSC Vitosha, IC Bul ins, IRJSC Allianz Bulgaria, IC Bulstrad, IC Bulgarski imoti, DZI General Insurance, IC Euroins, IC Orel, IC Hanover Coop and IC Jupiter. One of the requirements for the members is to present a bank guarantee for EUR 600 000 in favour of the Bureau.

According to the data of Insurance Supervision department at the Financial Supervision Commission the total amount of the premium income in general and life insurance as of the first nine months of the year was BGN 446.099 million. This is a growth of 18.8 per cent as compared to the results from 2002, when the incomes in the branch were BGN 375.324 million. During the period the 20 general insurance companies have reported an income in the amount of BGN 399.948 million.

Competition Protection Commission fined nine insurance companies in amount of BGN 330 000. The companies were fined because they had violated the ban for agreements and coordinated practice, which limited the competition of the market. The amount of the fines depends on the market position of each company at the present moment. The fines companies are Allianz Bulgaria IRC, Bulstrad IRC, DZI-General Insurance JSC, Bul Ins IC, Vitosha IRC, Euroins IC, IC Orel JSC, IC Jupiter JSC.
