"Teximbank" JSC will close its branch offices in the towns of Pazardzhik, Ihtiman and Smolyan, reported the Director of the branch office in Pazardzhik Angelina Natova. These branch offices will become offices and agencies according to their financial condition.

"Teximbank" JSC ended 1996 with a profit of BGL 2,698 billion, reported the Executive director of the bank Maria Vidolova. The provisions are in the amount of BGL 1,422 million. For the first time the bank will give dividends in the amount of 100 per cent.

The Bulgarian ship "Prista" was sold by "Teximbank" JSC to a Liberian company, reported the State Shipping Agency. The ship has been constructed by "Rousse Shipyard" Ltd according to an order of "Iris-92" JSC and has been paid with a credit from "Teximbank" JSC.

The General Meeting of "Teximbank" JSC adopted the suggestion for the foreign participation in the bank to be increased from 40 per cent up to 66 per cent. The bank reported a positive financial result in the amount to BGL 2,696 million-BGL 1,386 million of it are provisioned and BGL 529 million are spent on the payment of taxes. The remaining net profit amounts to BGL 728 million and will be capitalized. In this way the capital of the bank will reach the amount of BGL 1,425 billion. The owners of personal shares will receive 100 per cent dividend in the form of free shares. The owners of bearer's shares will receive 101 per cent dividend. The credit portfolio of the bank till the end of 1996 amounts to BGL 7,1 billion and 95.3 per cent of it is in foreign currency. The assets of the bank have risen with 2.23 times in comparison with 1995.

The Board of Governors of the BNB gave a licence for bank activities to "Sofia Municipal Bank" JSC and "Teximbank" JSC. The collected capital of "Sofia Municipal Bank" JSC is in the amount of BGL 2,36 billion and the capital of "Teximbank" JSC is in the amount of BGL 2,21 billion.
