The Director of the Bulgarian Health Fund Mr. Dimitar Petrov was fired. The decision was made unanimously by the Managing Board of the National Health Insurance Fund after a meeting held last night. The reason for Mr. Petrovs dismissal is mostly his personal inability to lead a dialogue with the institutions and especially with the Ministry of Health, Mr. Kiril Ananiev Director of the Managing Board said. Mr. Ivan Bukarev former Director of the Sofia Health Fund, will be appointed in the position of Mr. Petrov. Ati its first meeting, the Managing Board will fix a date for a competition, and the new director will be elected within the next three months.

The first lavender processing plant is expected to start operating in Dobrudja by the time the summer harvest begins. The project will be implemented in General Toshevo with the cooperation of the American International Development Agency. The Pledge programme granted a USD 15 000 support to the business project. The distillery will be processing 12t of lavender a day. It is built by the non-profit organization Future for Dobrudja.

Shoumen District Court registered changes for Lavena JSC - Shoumen: companys management system was transformed from one-tier system to two-tier; the Supervisory Board was discharged; Board of Directors was registered for three years with the following members: Mr. Ivan Dimitrov Bukarev chairman; Mr. Stamen Totev Totev deputy chairman; Ms. Maria Georgieva Velinova member of the Board of Directors and CEO. The General Meeting of the shareholders of Lavena JSC - Shoumen, Bourse code LAVEN, which was conducted on June 14, 2004, decided that the company should not distribute dividends as of 2003. Lavena JSC - Shoumen reported a profit in amount of BGN26 000 .

Lavena JSC started collecting the lavender, companys CEO Ms. Maria Velinova announced. This is one of the fewest local companies producing at the same time essential oils, cosmetics and medicines. The company has 2300 decares of lavender, 300 of which are own lands. The Shoumen-based company has registered 2 trade brands lavender and dill oils. The new mower patent by the French company Clear will replace the unattractive manual operations of 100 reapers and will allow the collection of more oil with better indexes.
