A major deal in hemodialysis equipment and blood lines maker Etropal gave a big fillip to the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday, lifting turnover to nearly BGN 5.5 million, including the bond segment. In two deals on the unregulated market, financial and industrial conglomerate Eurohold sold almost 23% of Bulgaria’s sole hemodialysis equipment and blood lines producer. The move comes after the recent announcement that the group has clinched a deal to shed its majority stake in the company. However, Eurohold explained this was a repo deal that has nothing to do with the planned sale. Earlier that day, Eurohold said in a stock market filing that it has sold its 95.47% share in Geoenergoproekt, a company building a small-scale hydro power plant near the town of Etropole, some 75 kilometres northeast of the capital Sofia. The buyer, renewable energy developer and operator Union Electric, has agreed to pay BGN 1.3 million.
